We stayed the James Hotel over St. Paddy's Day weekend though in town for a wedding, and the area is very good. The employees is super useful, the rooms are good, and general we had a good competence. Perks:- They have fresh water in cute small jugs in your room when you arrive. - Chocolates in the room- Super nice/upscale inventory and beds. - Really close to Michigan Avenue and tons of good restaurants. Downside: The Valet Parking was $52 per night, so if you're renting a automobile simply take note there are plenty of parking garages in this hood so it may be a small cheaper to park in 1 of those. general, I am a fan and could surely stay here again!

Ok The James Hotel is your area to go.  Nicely sized clean rooms in the middle of downtown. what more can you ask for?  Front desk, bellmen and concierge are all wonderfully useful.  There is a Trader Joe's across the street (which to be honest you can put a Trader Joes across the street of a hovel and I may take a note staying there), and you may rent bikes to visit the city if you're too lazy to walk. Oh and did I mention a 2pm checkout?  Yes that is right my friends no waking up early to pack up your crap you spread around the room to ensure you're out by 11 or twelve.  Relax.  Grab a mimosa at brunch and taste your last day. could probabble decrease 1/2 Star for the amenities if Yelp could let me be more precise although.  Booked expecting Kiehl's (understandably a gigantic fan) and rather  took a shower with what felt like some crazy blend of Organic, Paraben no cost ICY HOT.  Had to walk across the street to Trader Joe's to purchase soap and shampoo. Seriously, Mr. James Hotel. . bring back the Kiehl's. that thing burns! ! Anyways, with the exception of the not pleasant initial shower everything else was great.  Will surely return.
